Fr. Julius Kaziba – At the Life Center, Divine Mercy Chapel

I am Fr. Julius Kaziba from the diocese of Jinja, Uganda – East Africa. I was ordained a priest on February 29, 2020 by my late Bishop Charles Martin Wamika. I am currently an MTS student at Notre Dame University, while serving the people of God at the Life Center, Divine Mercy Chapel.

At the Divine Mercy Chapel, we have spiritual activities such as, Counseling and guidance, Spiritual direction, devotional prayers such as intercessory prayer meetings (praying for specific needs), praying the rosary, Novenas, Holy Mass, Adoration, Confession, among others. Our Life Center is indeed the source of Life.  Jesus, “the Way, the Life and the Resurrection, and the Bread of Life” is at the center of this place. In John 10:10, Jesus says, “the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Jesus started this center through Shawn and other people who still support it to this day, so that people may have life in ABUNDANCE. God says that “My people are destroyed for lack of Knowledge” (Hosea 4:6a). Our mission is to wage war against the devil. To see that the children of God are free from the bondage of satan, focusing on changing death centers into Life Centers, because every life matters.

At the Life Center, the devotion of the faithful, the atmosphere of reverence, and the opportunity to accompany people in their spiritual journeys have been especially meaningful to me. It has been a grace-filled experience to serve in a place so deeply rooted in prayer and trust in God’s mercy.

Being away from home, the Life Center is my wonderful new home. I am truly enjoying my time at the Divine Mercy Chapel. The people have been very supportive of me, and their faith and generosity make my ministry here joyful, and these speak volumes in my life.

I have been blessed to celebrate the sacraments, particularly the Eucharist and reconciliation, because as a priest, there is nothing more fulfilling than witnessing God’s grace at work in the lives of His people and being an instrument of His mercy and love.
